Palpable emotion is really the barometer of the personal effectiveness of a good work of art, and in the case of great works of art, the effect is constant and universal.
It seems I chase beauty and emotion in my works in an effort to break a little piece of my heart. Sadistic I suppose, but...as Arnold might say...no pain no gain.
